Treatment of Peri-implantitis with Er,Cr:YSGG laserImplant-related disease consisting of both peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis is of growing concern with some studies reported a prevalence as high as 48%.
These disease processes can lead to loss of implants, and well as contribute to general oral inflammation and an effect on systemic health. To date there is no consensus with regards to treatment protocol and long term success in the management of peri-implantitis.
The use of Lasers have been reported in the literature to be of some benefit – certainly in the short-term as a precursor to surgery. This webinar will discuss the aetiology, diagnosis and management of peri-implantitis. It will also offer an overview of the literature with regards to the use on lasers in this field, and showcase some interesting and successful cases in the use of Er,Cr:YSGG laser in both the non-surgical (minimally invasive) and surgical treatment of peri-implant diseases.
